Senior Pastor
Dr. Tim Shaw
Dr. Tim Shaw came to Shenandoah Community Fellowship as Senior Pastor in March 2020. Prior to his call to Shenandoah Community Fellowship, Tim served as Minster of Education 2007-2014 and Executive Pastor 2015-2019 at Apex Baptist Church in Apex, NC. Before God called Tim into ministry he served as a middle school teacher in Stafford, VA and police officer in Prince William County, VA.
Tim received a Bachelor of Arts from Cedarville University. He holds a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages and Doctor of Ministry in expository preaching from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Tim enjoys playing golf, hunting, watching sports, and reading. He and his Linda were married in 1991 and have two children – Jaden and Autumn and son-in-law, Andrew.

Discipleship Pastor
Jeff Smith
Jeff Smith has been a member since 2022. He graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University, and later went on to serve for 25 years in federal law enforcement. He served as one of the elders at River Rock Church Caroline in Ruther Glen, VA from 2017-2021. He has a passion for seeing believers grow in their faith through discipleship, LIFE Groups, and other church ministries. He enjoys meeting new people, getting together with other men and hunting.
Pam Smith served as an English teacher and school administrator for a private school in Stafford, Va. She and Jeff have been married for 26 years and have two married girls, Kylie (Jim Reel) and Katrina (Josh Cook). Pam enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading novels, writing, and having adventures with Jeff.

Youth Pastor
Matt Gilliland
Matt Gilliland has been a member since 2018. He and his wife Peyton have two animals at home. A loving dog “Bear” and a cat “Poppy.” Matt is passionate about caring for youth students and young adults. He recognizes they are the next generation and wants to invest in their lives purposefully. His care and devotion to his students is seen throughout the life groups, weekly gatherings, and retreats he leads. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries from North Greenville University and is currently pursuing classes at Southeastern Seminary. He is active, loves to adventure/explore, and has so many hobbies they’re hard to count.

Worship Leader
Peyton Gilliland
Peyton Gilliland has been a member since 2018. She is passionate about music, teaching, and helping students find their identity in Christ. She is a James Madison University graduate that currently serves as the Executive Director of, Kids Harbor, a Christian Preschool in Harrisonburg. She and her husband Matt (see excerpt above) have been married since 2019 and have enjoyed exploring the Shenandoah Valley. Peyton is deeply invested in the power of worship music and strives to lead the congregation purposefully alongside her team. She loves to read, shop local, drink good coffee, and spend time with loved ones. Please get to know her!

Jeff Allen
Jeff Allen has been a believer since childhood and was blessed to be raised in a loving Christ-centered home. He has been married to Sue for 40 years and they have three children and seven grandchildren. He is retired from the Marine Corps after 29 years of service, and moved to Fort Valley in 2019. He is active in the Men’s ministry, with missions, and service projects.

David Warren
David has been a disciple of Christ since his youth and a member of SCF since 2008. David serves in LIFE groups and children’s ministries. A Navy veteran, he and his wife, Diane, reside in Mount Jackson, have four children and six grandchildren.

Ira Carte
Ira accepted Christ in 1996. He has been married to Tracy for 32 years. Ira and Tracy have been members of Shenandoah Community Fellowship since June 2012. They have served together in LIFE Group ministry.

Jemeson Cowgill
Jameson has been a Christ follower since he was a young child and has been a member of Shenandoah Community Fellowship since 2006. He is an active member of the worship team and involved in men’s ministry. Jameson has been married to Katie for 15 years. They have two daughters Sadie and Eliza. Jameson has been a Deputy with the local Sheriff’s Office for 10 years and is currently a Criminal Investigator. He loves to hunt and enjoys the outdoors.
